Parish Priest: Fr Thé-Quang Nguyen

Welcome to our parish community website.

Maryvale Parish has a long and distinguished history. Mass has been celebrated in this road for over one thousand years. We are proud of our history. Our parish is not just a history - it's a living community of faith in this part of North Birmingham.

Father David J. Oakley, Former Parish Priest (2003-2013).

Hopefully you'll find something here to interest you. If you're a current or former member of the parish, we'd welcome your contributions to the site. Have you any memories you'd like to share of your time in the parish? If so, please get in touch.

Our Lady of the Assumption, Maryvale is now part of a "super parish", combining with Christ the King, Kingstanding and St Margaret Mary, Perry Common .

Weekly Prayer

O God, author of every mercy and of all goodness, who in fasting, prayer and almsgiving have shown us a remedy for sin, look graciously on this confession of our lowliness, that we, who are bowed down by our conscience, may always be lifted up by your mercy. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

A Parish Prayer

Father of love and all blessings, you chose Mary, your lowly handmaid, to be the Mother of Your beloved Son. Mary listened to your word and believed what she heard. She responded with love and confident trust to the mission you offered her.

She Followed Jesus as the perfect disciple and shared in His mission of reconciliation and the proclamation of the Kingdom. At the end, she stood by Him at the foot of the Cross and shared in the joy of the Resurrection and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

May we follow her example of discipleship. Bless our parish and strengthen our fellowship and communion. May we, like Mary, accept the work you give us to do.

We make our prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
